SiO Maser Survey of Cold IRAS Sources
We present the results of observations of cold IRAS sources in the Galactic disk area, −10 < l < 100 and |b|< 5, in the SiO J = 1–0, v = 1 and 2 maser lines. SiO masers were detected in 51 out of 143 observed sources; 45 were new detections in SiO masers. The selected IRAS sources were objects with dust temperatures of between 160 and 280 K. According to a confirmation using 2MASS near-infrared...
متن کاملA survey of the 6.7 GHz methanol maser emission from IRAS sources
We present an analysis of the 6.7 GHz methanol maser data taken with the 32 m Toruń telescope during recently completed survey of IRAS based sample of star formation sites. Methanol masers are associated with 13% of the sources in the sample. The mean detection rate slightly increases with the IRAS flux density quality measurements. It is 62% for sources with the 60 μm flux density, F60 > 104 J...
متن کاملSearch for H 2 O maser emission from high - latitude IRAS sources
A high-sensitivity search for water maser emission at 22.2 GHz has been performed on a sample of 91 IRAS point sources at high-latitudes 1. The aim of the survey is to verify if these clouds are capable of star formation as indicated by the presence of water masers. The sample is based on the recent work of Magnani et al. (1995) who have identified 192 infrared objects from the IRAS Faint Sourc...
متن کاملObservations of Stellar Maser Sources with no IRAS Counterpart
We investigated stellar maser sources with no IRAS counterpart at the radio, middle-infrared, and nearinfrared wavelengths. A 43 GHz SiO maser search for 120 2MASS/MSX objects, and 10 OH 1612 MHz sources with no or a very faint MSX counterpart, resulted in 43 SiO detections: one OH 1612 MHz source, 2 near-infrared stars, and 40 MSX sources. Additional near-infrared J-, H-, and K-band observatio...
متن کاملA search for extragalactic H2O maser emission towards IRAS galaxies
We report the result of an on-going survey for 22 GHz H2O maser emission towards infrared luminous galaxies. The observed galaxies were selected primarily from the IRAS bright galaxy sample. The survey has resulted in the detection of one new maser. The new maser was discovered towards the [U]LIRG/merger galaxy NGC6240, which contains a LINER nucleus. This is the first detection of an H2O maser...
